Orthopedic Surgeon

Orthopedic Surgeons are highly skilled members of the Air Force medical group. As an Orthopedic Surgeon, you will examine, diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system by surgical and conservative means while also managing orthopedic surgery services. You will be responsible for reviewing case histories and data, examining patients, interpreting test results and evaluating examination findings. You will also schedule operations, assign surgeons, nurses and medical technicians, direct nurses and advise on kind and quantity of orthopedic supplies and equipment. You may manage orthopedic surgery services and formulate plans and procedures for orthopedic surgery services. You may also instruct interns and residents and serve as consultant on orthopedic issues.
