U. S. Marines

The U.S. Marines are an expertly trained, strictly disciplined, highly efficient fighting machine. Marines are warriors. A smaller, more dynamic force than any other in the American arsenal, the Marines are the only forward-deployed force designed for expeditionary operations by air, land, or sea. It is the size and expertise of this force that allows the Marines to move quickly and decisively. In the Marine Corps, there is a motto that describes a Marine's commitment to other Marines, the organization, and the Unites States of America. It is Semper Fidelis or "Semper Fi." Translated from Latin, it means "Always Faithful."

The Marines function under the direct command of the the President of the United States. The Commander in Chief does not need congressional approval to call on the Marines.

Ninety-one days of intense training will change an ordinary man into a disciplined, strong, and diverse United States Marine.
