Officers selected for higher rank have usually striven to earn advanced degrees and have taken advantage of the extensive technical training offered by the Navy. Whether working towards a master’s degree in their off duty time with the aid of Navy Tuition Assistance or attending graduate school full time under the Navy’s sponsorship, these Officers are preparing themselves for advanced rank and the challenges of the future

If you re-enlist, you don’t have to start over or go back to boot camp — you’ll be processed through a Transient Personnel Unit (TPU). Depending on your duty assignment and qualifications, you may be required to attend Intermediate or Advanced Training to enhance your Career Options.

The Navy has a generous reimbursement program. In addition, the training the Navy gives you to do your job usually counts for college credits.

This scholarship can provide enough money to cover up to four, and with some technical degrees (e.g., engineering, physics, etc.), even five years of tuition, textbooks, a monthly spending allowance, and other related fees.
