Public Affairs Officer
The relationship between the Air Force and the civilian community is a vital part of Air Force operations. Ensuring that this relationship is a healthy one is the job of the Public Affairs Officer. As a Public Affairs Officer, it will be your job to make sure that clear lines of communication exist between the Air Force and civilian organizations and the national media. Your daily duties will include management duties from planning budgets to training other public affairs specialists. You will also be expected to maintain a working relationship with various media outlets. During events such as aircraft accidents and natural disasters, you will be called upon to issue statements to the public and manage news events.
